The 72th Annual Academy Awards: If you're suffering from post-Oscar syndrome (like me), then you're probably as dead tired as I am. Last night's awards show was definitely not a memorable one, but a vast improvement over 1999's show with Whoopi Goldberg. There were some high points of the awards show, including seeing a crying Angelina Jolie sport her new Lara Croft look, Robin Williams' rendition of "Blame Canada", and some gags from Billy Crystal including his opening sequence, the "I Know What They're Thinking" skit, and several memorable jokes. There were a few long speeches, though nothing to agonize over. All in all, it was an entertaining show. Here are the winners:

Weekend Box-Office: Julia Roberts avoided Jet Li's punch, taking in an estimated $19 million over the weekend. That figure is only a tiny amount more than the opening of Jet Li's film Romeo Must Die, which scored $18.6 million over the three-day weekend and $25.1 million over the five-day weekend total. The other newcomers, Here on Earth and Whatever it Takes, finished 5th and 6th place respectively, earning $4.6 and $4.3 million. Final figures will be posted in the Box-Office section later today.

Various Pictures: On the top is, obviously, a new picture of Halle Berry as Storm from X-Men...Several pictures for upcoming Universal Pictures films appeared on their website recently...on the left is a picture of Sylvester Stallone's upcoming drama D-Tox...in the middle is the first picture from Nicolas Cage's Family Man. Finally, to the right, is an image from the Rocky & Bullwinkle film opening this summer. Click on any of the thumbnails for larger versions.

N'Sync Movie: Call a doctor if you need help after reading this one...Dark Horizons reported a few days ago that there were rumors of Justin Timberlake from boy band "N'Sync" set to play a "007-esque character." A scooper to the site did an interview with member JC Chasez about their upcoming tour for their new album "No Strings Attached", and Chasez stated "We're scheduled to come to Australia in Spring, but we have a movie to do before then. We're going to be shooting in August. It's being written by Tom Hanks. We've already read it and we're right into it. It's totally different we're not singing, it's going to be totally character driven."

Scary Movie: The formerly titled "Scream If You Know What I Did Last Halloween" spoof of scary movies starring Shannon Elizabeth and the Wayans Brothers has been pushed from May to a July 7th release date, due to several films opening in May which are targeted towards the teenage audience.

Gladiator: The full-length trailer for Russell Crowe's Gladiator pic which is also directed by Ridley Scott (Aliens, Blade Runner) is now online, thanks to Blue Thunder Movies. Unfortunately, it is taken from Access Hollywood so the quality isn't in top shape yet. If you have trouble downloading, head on over to Jaward's DreamWorks Page which features several mirror links. Once the trailer officially hits the Net, we'll post links to it as soon as we can.

Blair Witch 2: A cheap stunt to lure guys back to watch the movie? A new rumor has popped up on the Net citing that one of the female characters in the movie will have a nude scene. Blair Witch 2 is currently being filmed in a tightly secured area in Maryland.

Spider-Man: More of an announcement rather than a scoop...SpiderManHype.com will be fortunate enough to have Spiderman creator himself Stan Lee as a guest in an upcoming chat session they will be conducting. The chat session will be held on Tuesday, April 11th and will begin at 5:00 pm Central Time and ending at 5:30 pm. Those interested can go over to the website to find out more details.

Star Wars, Episode 2: Wish you could see Yoda fighting in action? C.H.U.D. reports that you will be able to see a fighting Yoda in action in the upcoming episode sequels. "[Yoda] will definitely get a chance to move around and fight in one of the next two films," Lucas stated in the Star Wars Insider. "Yoda will show why he's called the Master."

The Mimic 2: Cinematographer Jean de Segonzac ("Homocide", "Oz") will be making his feature directing debut on the sequel to the 1997 horror flick directed by Guillermo del Toro. The sequel, which will begin production in May, will focus on the first film's character of Remy (Alix Koromzay), who will now take on the human sized bugs. There's no word on if the first film's stars, Mira Sorvino and Jeremy Northam, will return, though it seems doubtful. The film will have a budget in the $10 million range and is penned by Joel Soisson (Prophecy 3).
