The Visitor (aka Planet of the Apes): Vacillating between two of the most anticipated films of 2001, Tim Roth has turned down a major role in the "Harry Potter" movie to do Tim Burton's adaptation of "The Planet of the Apes". The British actor will play the role of "the prime primate who enslaves [Mark] Wahlberg's character." Paul Giamatti ("Big Momma's House") is also set to join the Apes project, ready to take on the part of "Limbo," a slave-trading ape who sympathizes with the humans' plight.

Beyond Borders: Although she's busy doing work on "Tomb Raider" in England right now, Angelina Jolie is still looking to the future. Jolie is in negotiations to take on the leading female role opposite Kevin Costner in Oliver Stone's "Beyond Borders." According to insiders, Jolie was drawn to the high-minded material of "the international relief worker-themed romantic drama" and is said to be quite enthused at the prospect of working with Stone and Costner.

Star Wars, Episode 2: More proof that sometimes, you just can't trush too many people on the Internet. CrankyCritic.com recently chatted with Christopher Walken about his rumored involvement with "Star Wars: Episode 2". The actor stated . "People have been telling me for six months and really it's very interesting. I even asked. I said maybe I am in it and they're just saving it for a surprise. But I'm not in that movie. Never was. I don't know how that happened. Maybe somebody put it on the internet. I tell you frankly that the only place I've ever heard that is by way of rumor."

The source of the rumor, Ain't it Cool News, is standing by their story and swears that the report of Walken's invovlement is true. We'll just have to see...

Zoolander: Owen Wilson ("Shanghai Noon") has been given $2 million by Parmount to co-star in this comedy directed and co-starring Ben Stiller. "Zoolander" is based on the character Ben Stiller created three years ago at the VH1 Fashion Awards.

Batman 5: Val Kilmer as Batman again? While speaking with Variety, Kilmer revealed that he would love to do another Batman film. Kilmer claims that "Batman Forever" was the best of the three (yeah, right) and that if he were to do another one, he'd like for it to have more humor.

Austin Powers 3: So now that "Sprockets" is out of the picture for Mike Myers, will he return to the franchise that made him an international star? Michael York (who played Basil in the two Austin movies) recently chatted with the Popcorn site and stated that he "keep[s] hearing rumors, and then definite statements that he's doing another," York says. He also adds, "I think Mike's very clever and realizes that he was, you know, over-exposed - both physically and media-wise - and I'm sure he'll wait for a time when people are wanting it." Regarding his own involvement with another one, York said "Of course he has to have me back, otherwise who's going to explain what's going on?"

From Hell: Ian Holm will replace Nigel Hawthorne as a Scotland Yard investigator in "From Hell" for 20th Century Fox. Hawthorne, who was to star opposite Johnny Depp and Heather Graham, bowed out because of illness. Principal photography started this month in Prague but scenes with Hawthorne had not been shot. Screenwriter Terry Hughes' adaptation of the Jack the Ripper story is based on a 10-part series of graphic novels by Alan Moore and Eddie Campbell that focuses on Scotland Yard detective Frederick Abberlines' (Depp) investigation of the 1880 London killings and the unveiling of a vast political conspiracy that extends to the top of the British empire.

Ghost of Mars: Another replacement has taken place. Sources are claiming that Famke Janssen will replace Courtney Love for John Carpenter's "Ghost of Mars" picture. Love had to leave because of an injury she did to her ankle. The shooting start for the picture has been delayed by two days so that Janssen can finish work on another film.
