Horizons, some new about the sequel to Blade
has arrived: According to, The Mexican News,
the trade reports that Guillermo
Del Toro is hard at work prepping the eventual film.
Del Toro was apparently planning to film "La mano izquierda
de la oscuridad" ("The Left Hand of Darkness"), a remake
of the old "Count of Monte Cristo" tale with Antonio
Banderas, but due to his contract with New Line he has
had to hold off on it and start pre-production on the
vampire sequel. Shooting begins in November, and Del
Toro promises a few surprises "This is the first project
in which I didn't write the story, but it has a script
that I really liked, besides, when I finished 'Cronos'
I still had a lot of vampire ideas that I couldn't develop
due to budgetary constraints". Toro met with scribe
David S. Goyer three weeks ago to discuss changes to
the script which will have a different emphasis than
the first movie "The first part explored his interaction
with society in a modern city and now the idea is to
see how he functions from within".
Tomb
Raider: The Movie: The
deal is signed, filming begins this summer: Oscar winner
Angelina Jolie has signed on the dotted line and will
portray Lara Croft this summer along with director Simon
West (Con Air). Paramount hopes to get the film
going this summer in time for a summer 2001 release.
Stonehenge
2000: From
Cinescape, we
learn that Germany's Constantin Film and Impact Pictures
(Mortal Kombat, Event Horizon) are joining forces
to bring Bernard Cornwell's novel, Stonehenge 2000,
to the big screen. The book tells a fictionalized account
of the construction of the historic site focusing on
a rivalry between three brothers happening concurrently.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the film's
script is in early stages, though no scribe is mentioned.
Furthermore, no cast or crew has been tapped to bring
it all to the big screen.
Prozac
Nation: Jason
Biggs (American Pie) will join Christina Ricci
in this big-screen adaptation of the Elizabeth Wurtzel
novel which will begin filming on May 15th. The eventual
film will tell the story of a troubled young woman suffering
from depression as she makes her way through Harvard
and the journalism world. Biggs will portray her boyfriend
in the picture which will be directed by Erik Skjoldejaerg.
From
Hell: Heather
Graham is interested in joining Johnny Depp in the big
screen version of Alan Moore and Eddie Campbell's novel.
Graham would take on the role of an Irish prostitute
being sought after by Jack the Ripper. Depp will take
on the part of Scotland Yard detective Frederick Abberline
who has been assigned the Ripper case in White Chapel
in 1880. Production of the film starts this summer in

Road
Trip: When
a trailer is too raunchy for TV, too wild for the big-screen,
but it effectively describes the movie, where do you
premiere the rated R trailer? On the Internet, of course!
Cinema Confidential has the rated R trailer that
they have and ladies and gentlemen, here it is! Now
it's got nudity, drug use, so you have to be 18 years
or older (but hell, like that's going to stop many of
you). Enjoy!
