Variety reports that Universal Pictures has brought on Jim Carrey to star in the comedy "Sober Buddies." Carrey will produce with Stuber/Parent's Scott Stuber and Mary Parent and Michael Peyser.

Andrew Kurtzman penned the script about a hard-partying software executive who is assigned a Sober Buddy (Carrey) by a court to keep him in line while at an important business trip in Las Vegas. But things go awry when the Buddy falls off the wagon.
