Entertainment Weekly recently spoke to "Spider-Man 3" director Sam Raimi, who talked about possibly taking on "The Hobbit" after New Line announced that "Lord of the Rings" director Peter Jackson will not be invited back to direct "The Hobbit" after Jackson filed a lawsuit against the studio. Raimi's name has been circulating the Net as a possible replacement on the project.
''Peter Jackson might be the best filmmaker on the planet right now," Raimi told the magazine. "But, um, I don't know what's going to happen next for me right now. First and foremost, those are Peter Jackson and Bob Shaye's films. If Peter didn't want to do it, and Bob wanted me to do it — and they were both okay with me picking up the reins — that would be great. I love the book. It's maybe a more kid-friendly story than the others.''
The magazine also goes on to speculate what would happen to "Spider-Man 4" should Raimi take on such a massive project. Click on the link below to check out the article.
