Variety reports that Dominic Sena ("Gone in 60 Seconds") will direct Kate Beckinsale in "Whiteout," a project being produced by Joel Silver under his Dark Castle Entertainment banner.

Jon and Erich Hoeber will adapt the comic book by Greg Rucka about a U.S. marshal (Beckinsale) stationed in Antarctica who is assigned to a murder investigation. With only three days until winter, she must solve the crime before the continent is plunged into darkness and she is trapped with the killer.
