Unviersal and Illumination Entertainment have acquired the film rights to the children's book series "Where's Waldo?" to turn into a feature film and possible franchise.

Chris Meledandri will produce the picture. Classic Media's Eric Ellenbogen will exec produce.

Martin Handford created the series which shows complex illustrations of a vast number of people and it is up to the reader to find Waldo in the crowd, who usually wears a red and white outfit and large round glasses.
