Third Robert Langdon film "The Lost Symbol" will be produced

Sony/Columbia Pictures is moving forward on a third Robert Langdon film to be based on the upcoming Dan Brown book, "The Lost Symbol." The upcoming book follows the character of Robert Langdon after "Angels and Demons" and "The Da Vinci Code." "The Lost Symbol" hits stores September 15, 2009.

Ron Howard directed "The Da Vinci Code" and "Angels and Demons" and both starred Hanks in the role of Robert Langdon. It is unknown whether either are attached to the forthcoming film adaptation of "The Lost Symbol."

Details on the story remain tightly guarded however it is known that the story takes place during a 12 hour period.
