Universal Pictures will put out a new big screen version of "Clue," with Gore Verbinski set to direct and produce. Verbinski directed the "Pirates of the Caribbean" trilogy and is directing the upcoming "Prince of Persia" film.
The Hollywood Reporter reports that the movie will be the first as part of a partnership between Universal and Hasbro to turn properties into films. Other board games in the hopper include "Candyland," "Ouija Board" and "Monopoly."
A big screen version of Clue was put out nearly 25 years ago which became a cult hit despite poor box office sales.
Clue has a group of players navigating around a board with different rooms. The object of the game is to figure out the answer to the predetermined mystery of who the killer is and what weapon they used.
