Variety reports that Forest Whitaker will produce and star in a biopic about Louis Armstrong titled "What a Wonderful World." Paris-based Legende, the company behind "La Vie en Rose," will produce. The film will be based on a script by Ron Bass.

The movie will be the first project approved by the Armstrong estate and will chronicle "the musician’s impoverished early years in New Orleans and primarily chronicle his career as a trumpet virtuoso and improvisational singer."
