Variety reports that actor Kenneth Branagh is in talks to direct the film adaptation of "Thor," a film based on the Marvel comic hero of the same name. Marvel is hoping to release the film by 2010.

The movie will follow the comic series about "a disabled medical student Donald Blake, who has an alter ego as the hammer-wielding Norse god Thor. "
