Not to be confused with the Judd Apatow-produced "Sherlock Holmes" that's being setup at Sony Pictures, Warner Bros. announced on Friday that Robert Downey Jr. will star in a new vision of "Sherlock Holmes" for director Guy Ritchie. The mystery drama will be based on the famous character created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and also an upcoming comic-book about Holmes by Lionel Wigram, one of the movie’s producers.

Joel Silver is co-producing the film with Robert Downey Jr.'s wife, Susan Downey.

The movie will be set in 19th century London.
