Variety reports that Paramount Pictures is looking to revive the Jack Ryan character for the big screen with Sam Raimi producing and directing a new series of films.
The character of Jack Ryan was created by author Tom Clancy and is the subject of several books. Four of them were developed into feature films - "The Hunt for Red October," "Patriot Games," "Clear and Present Danger," and "The Sum of All Fears." The new films are expected to depict Ryan at a much earlier age and stage in his career.
Paramount hopes to have the first film out by summer 2010.
