Paramount Pictures announced today that J.J. Abrams' "Star Trek" is being delayed from its initial Christmas 2008 release until May 8, 2009. No reasons were cited regarding the change in release.

"Star Trek" stars Zachary Quinto, Chris Pine, Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg, Karl Urban, Bana and Winona Ryder. Specific plot details are still being kept secret but it is known that the film is centered around the Enterprise's early days.
