WB to pull the plug on "Justice League"?
POSTED 01/14/2008 AT 1:24 PM ET

Entertainment Weekly reports that Warner Bros. will decide as soon as Wednesday whether or not to move forward with the "Justice League" movie.

The "Justice League" movie was put on the fast track earlier this year in order for the studio to get one blockbuster comic book film under its belt in the case the actors go on strike later this year. But the script reportedly still needs work and with the writers' strike still going on, the project has been put on indefinite hold. Not to mention, the studio has already shelved out a lot of money for the casting process in which Miller auditioned several young, unknown actors to fill in the roles of Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, amongst others. It was also rumored that whoever Miller hired for the roles of the superheroes would go on to reprise those roles in future standalone films.

Other complications regarding the "Justice League" film would have broken the continuity that's being established in Chris Nolan's Batman trilogy, as well as any future Superman films that Brandon Routh may (or may not) star in.
