Yesterday, Variety hinted that Bryan Singer would not be directing a sequel to "Superman Returns." Now comes word that Brandon Routh has been ousted as well, according to Latino Review (http://www.latinoreview.com).

Instead, the site says, the eventual actor who will be chosen to play Superman in the "Justice League" film will eventually star in a separate standalone "Superman" movie as well.

UPDATE1/7/08: Ain't it Cool News (http://www.aintitcool.com) reports that news that Brandon Routh has been ousted from the next Superman film are not true and that the actor is still very much attached to the next Superman film but not "Justice League" as expected.
