Welling talks "Superman"

While on his promotional tour promoting "Cheaper by the Dozen," Tom Welling has admitted that he believes that people will see him as Clark Kent for years to come and it is, for that reason, he is open to playing Superman in the new "Superman" movie from Warner Bros.

While speaking on the Howard Stern Show, Welling said, "It's not totally out of the question. at the moment, that decision lies more with the producers of the show, than it does with me. I woudn't knock back the offer. Basically, if they think this might be the last season of 'Smallville,' than it would be the perfect opportunity. We could continue Clark's story on the big screen, and that's something the studio and the new director [he didnt say who it was] are considering."

Welling also said they've had trouble finding someone that acts and looks like Superman, because they've either been too old or scared of being tied down to the role. He said he's already got that problem, which is probably why he was asked. But said it would be an honor if it worked out that way.

Thanks to Dark Horizons (http://www.darkhorizons.com) for the heads up.
